Where’re We Gonna Be When We Turn 25?

Last Tuesday, which was the day I met up with Yen, well before that, I met up with my high school friends. A few of them. I picked James up from school. And it was reaaaallly good seeing him. I haven’t seen him since SPM results night. That was in March. IF THAT ISN’T YEARSSS THAN WHAT IS IT
.
.
.

.
.
.

Well initially the plan was just to have lunch in Taipan or something. Then Michelle said the others would be going to Swensons, for some cheap 50% ice cream. Swenson’s Every-Tuesday’s-Offer thingy.

Well you know Malaysians, and discounts.

So, poor James. He didn’t bring along any clothes with him. So all the way until at the end of the day, he kept bugging and complaining to me about how lame it was that he’s wearing Form6 cool school uniform out.

But hey James, at least you’re not green!
.
.
.

.
.
.

Swenson’s ice cream was shitty. Pardon me for being frank. Well if there wasn’t any 50% off, it wouldn’t even be worth paying for. No actually, even with the 50% off, it’s still not worth paying for!

I’d rather spend a lil more and have better ice cream at Baskins or something. Even Mat Kool is cooler.

Time has passed, and times have changed.

Seeing James the other day really made me recall back about a lot of memories in high school. I miss high school a lot. My class of 5Amanah was ZEE bomb. All the jokes, lame and funny, ups and downs, success and failures, we shared them all together in that very class.

High school was a very fun place to be at, well apart from SPM and exams and shits. Heh

Well, we only left high school less than a year. We’re only 18 this year. But many friends have already gone far away, some drifted far apart, some not even a call or a text, and some just totally lost contact of.

If this is how it’s like when it’s 18, what about when we’re 25?

Where’re we gonna be when we turn 25?

Will there still be our regular Friday nights yamcha session in OTK Taipan? What about our once-in-a-while partying and clubbing times? Our birthday celebrations?
.
.

It’s just sad to accept the fact that people do change along with time. Well, some for the better. And sadly, some for the worse.

Why is it that we humans never stop asking? We never stop asking for more. When will we learn to stop, and learn that when enough is enough? Perhaps, “enough” is not even in our vocabulary. I suppose the only way we’ll ever stop asking, is when God stops granting what we’re asking for.

And when that happens, isn’t it already a little too late?

Is it that hard for us to learn how to be happy with what is already being granted?

It’s no wonder we’re claimed to be the most complicating and complex creatures on Earth.
.
.

I’m just missing the old times a lot. College is not all that bad, but it isn’t the same as high school. And the things you do, and the people around you, aren’t the same anymore. I miss all my high school friends.

If you’re lost, just turn to your back and you’ll find a road that you have once travelled. And that is the road, that we have walked together.
.
.

OH WELLL

Moving on. You knowwwww what the helllll?

Tonight was my college’s Freshies Night for Sem2, and I damn right didn’t have a clue about it. Plus, my coll mates are going to Hops and Grapes for an after party.

Pffft. Oh well. Never mind. I had fun at home too, watching all my downloaded TVB series. Very nice, being Chinese at home watching Chinese drama.

Okay lah, it’s getting very early now. I meant, early in the morning of the next day. So…. take care all, more updates soon.

Before I leave,

I miss this retarded sampat kampong girl! She left for Singapore just today, and I think she arrived about 3 hours ago by car.

How did I know Yen? Good question.
.
.
.

.
.
.
I met her while I was working freelance as a showgirl/event promoter. Yen is the first from the left in the above picture. And that was just about a month ago, on June 28th 2008.

Yup. I only know her for a month.

But it feels like we’ve been friends for years. Because we have alot of things in common.

Ever since the TM Triple play job, we’ve gotten to know each other more, and realized that we have quite a number of similarities with each other. For instance, we both live in SUBANG. Seriously.

And so happen at that moment I was working in the exhibition management office in USJ9, remember? And SOO coincidently my office wanted to hire another part time staff. So I recommended her to come join me. And so she did.

Ever since then, we’ve been seeing each other for almost everyday. See her face until very boring already. From Monday till Sunday you know. But now even if I wanna see her jakun face, I have to go all the way to Singapore la weh. Unless she buys a webcam.
.
.

I went out with her 2 days ago, Tuesday, just to meet up with her before she leaves for S’pore. I picked her up and went to Pyramid, had dinner and talk about alooooott of stuffs.
.
.
.

.
.
.

We ate in Gasoline. I kinda fancy that place tho. Cos they have nice drinks seriously, a bit pricy tho.

Like I’ve mentioned earlier, we have a lot of things in common. Firstly, she’s doing Arts as well. Animation. She was previously in The One Academy, considering now she went to S’pore to a diff college. Secondly, she’s the youngest in the family. The list goes on.

You know, even her family is almost similar to mine! Her mom is just like MY mom. Housewife. Cooks. Same characters and attitude, like how they prepare our meals reallllly early of the day. Simple example. Like if we don’t wanna eat dinner at home tomorrow night, we must tell our moms like the early morning before tomorrow.

Even our dads. From all the stories we shared, it’s like we always can relate it back to ourselves. It’s really a rare coinsidence that you can find a friend like this.
.
.
.

.
.
.

And also, we both hate wearing jeans and long pants. We love wearing shorts, and we don’t care where we’re going, we still love wearing shorts. I thought I was the weird one who hates wearing jeans, cos it’s like super hot in Msia and your leg gets itchy and all.. well who knew she’s as weird as I am. SHORTS ARE D BOMB

Yen also worked together with me during the CosmoBeaute Asia Exhibition in PWTC. We shared the same hotel room together and had heaps of fun.

I remember there was one night after work, we took the LRT from PWTC to Pasar Rakyat. I cannot believe this girl never went to Petaling Street before. Kampong betul kampong weh.

So that night we walked over to Petaling Street aka Chee Cheong Kai to look see look see. There got a lot of Chinese people. And very scary chinese speaking chinese guys who kept trying to sell us DVDs. Maybe it’s some Chinese porn. I dont know.

Yen was very shocked to see the atmosphere of Petaling Street to be something like THAT. Damn jakun lor she never go Chee Cheong Kai before, I still cannot believe it.

There was this chinese seller, he said, “Leng lui you dropped something lah..” in cantonese,

And Yen really turned back and look at the floor to see what she dropped. And they laughed at us. At this point, I had no other reasons to not believe that it was her first time going to Petaling Street. LOL

When we wanted to leave that very-dodgy-stuffy-chinese-place, we somehow got lost. We walked round and round and round but we couldn’t find the LRT station where we dropped off from. Can die. That time already almost 11pm. The last train is at 11:30pm summore.

We tried asking a few people for directions, but they don’t seem to know where the LRT station is too. They only knew where KTM station was. SAD LA LRT NOT FAMOUS

I clearly remembered the exact time that night. We walked for 43 minutes in KL just to search for the LRT station. FORTY THREE MINUTES. Two girls all alone in the stranded streets of KL at the time close to midnight. Memories weh..

Well finally we found our destination in the end. But it was 11:30pm already, thank God the last train haven’t left yet. By the time we got back to our hotel room, we were dead exhausted.
.
.
.

.
.
.

Another thing in common that we have is that she doesn’t take spicy food. No chilli. No curry. Same same like me. Now this is REALLY rare to find seriously. I feel the bond weh..
.
.
.

.
.
.

In pyramid that day after dinner, she wanted to eat some fruits.

She bought some pineapples, and poured some sauce..
.
.
.

.
.
.

Silly that she didn’t know it was Rojak sauce, and it was spicy until she couldn’t tahan that she could drink 10 gallons of water. But I was nicely laughing my ass off looking at her suffer. Hahahahah. Very funny
.
.

We went to J.Co’s later on, because I was craving for their donuts. Thank God there wasn’t a long queue.. Heh
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

See her horny face. She’s been a very fun verbally horny partner of mine during the nights in legend hotel. hahahah okay sounds sick
.
.
.

.
.
.
She insisted that she wants an ugly photo together. Anything for the princess that’s no longer gonna be here lah.
.
.
.

.
.
.
It was really really nice seeing and getting to know you girl. Though we only met for a month, but it’s not like we will never meet again. When I’ve renewed my passport, I’ll go S’pore and find youuuuuu (:

Don’t forget your Malaysian friends here. Most importantly, DON’T FORGET ME! Or I’ll come rape you in your dreams.

I had lots and lots and lots of fun hanging out with you. It’s really something that I’ll always remember and am already missing it. You’re a great friend and no matter how you are there, good or bad, happy or sad, let me know! We can always share our problems.

Walaupun kami tidak berjumpa dan dua insan berjauhan, namun hati kami masihlah tergabung sebagai satu.

HAHAHA Jiwang doh.

Take care there weh.. anything can always call! Use Skype, it’s free =p  Or you can email. Or sms. Or MSN. Now technology very canggih. So there’s no reason to why you cannot keep in touch with me.

I’ll miss you Yenang!! (:  Love ya, muahh!

CosmoBeaute Asia Exhibition 2008

Muahahahahaha like horror movie or not?

ANYWAYYY,

Hello All!!

I know, it takes me hell long to just give one simple update. Like, why the hell right..

Sorry lah machas. I’m busy working and earning MORE money. I like. Since this Wednesday till today was the last day, I was working in PWTC for an exhibition, as a showgirl kind of thing. Boring, but good pay I tell you. I smell money $$

I’ll update on that exhibition after I’m finished with the job. For now, these are some of the pictures I took during my previous exhibition job, the CosmoBeaute Asia Exhibition in PWTC from 14th to 17th July 2008.

I worked with a bunch of very friendly, crazy, fun and funny people, and I really miss working with them. Cos it’s like going there to have fun and play around but getting paid.

Firstly, while we were walking down the hallway looking for our hotel room…
.
.
.

.
.
.

Why? Because our room is the one right at the very end, at the centre of the T-junction. If some of you didn’t know, some Chineses belive that it is very pantang to live in a house or room of that position. Bad fengshui, so I was told.
.
.
.

.
.
.

It’s Legend Hotel in Kuala Lumpur that we were living in. Basically cos Legend Hotel is just directly opposite of PWTC. Convenient, I suppose.
.
.
.

.
.
.

Oh and when I meant OUR and US, it’s as in my friend, Yen and I. Gabriel also shared the same room as us.
.
.
.

.
.
.

And considering we were staying for a few nights in KL, and we’re actually pretty nearby the Heritage Road.. so we bumped over to Maison on one of those nights. That’s Yen up there in black & gold, hot aye, I know. :P  First time clubbing with that retarded girl weh. She’s damn fun to hang with.
.
.
.

.
.
.

Every morning we get to eat complimentary buffet breakfast. Fun right.
.
.
.

.
.
.

And every morning, Yen and I confirm will eat eggs. Tell me about the cholesterol and fats man.
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

The exhibition ends at 6pm. So when it’s like 7 something, the whole hall is already cleared and empty, nobody’s there. And these bunch of playful monkeys had their fame on stage for 30seconds, with no audiences.
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

On one of those exhibition nights, a small get-together party was organized for the exhibitors.
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

And this is where I was stationed throughout the whole exhibition days; The Organizer Office.
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

I worked in the organizer office with Henry and Ruth.. two lovely people to me. No, actually one. Ruth, that is. Henry is a meanie and always bitchy with me. Though he acts like he cares a lot, but deep down inside I know he enjoys seeing me suffer. Evil. Right my dear?
.
.
.

.
.
.

And this is Rex, also known as Chin Foo. He’s another brat that I got to know and got closer with during the exhibition days apart from Evil Henry. He’s always cracking jokes but he doesn’t realizes it, always the playful one. And it was shitting funny when we had to bribe a corrupted policeman in KL for almost, mind you, ALMOST doing an illegal U-turn (meaning we actually didn’t even make the illegal turn). And the time when he parked outside of Seri Pacific Hotel for the whole entire night and the next day realized his car got cramped and locked for parking there.

LOL.
.
.

Also not forgetting how sometimes these boys cannot resist each other and some scandals happen..
.
.
.

.
.
.

.
.
.

And that was how CosmoBeaute exhibition was. I actually really really had loads of fun working there. I was exactly a week away from home. I lived with friends, and we took care of each other. Especially Yen and I. I also met a lot of new friends who are really nice people. Especially Rex and Henry. Though they’re mean and sarcastic and all at times, but they’re heaps fun and I miss them a lot. David and Gabriel also were really fun to hang with. I miss Yen soooo much. Sleeping with her for a week, and now she’s not with me anymore! Noooooooo! Okay gay.

I miss the times we went out to yamcha and our midnight gossips in the hotel room. I miss the 1 week freedom I had. Away from all the stress and pressure from family, other issues and etc. I miss living independently.

Oh well.

Anyway, time to go off for a mani, and a pedi. (:  I feel all princessy!

Why?

Because 4 days of working in KL is already killing me! The air there is sooooo filthy that when I breathe I can literally taste dust and dirt!

So I’m just rewarding myself. Well sort of.

Alright all. Till the next update, tata for now.
.
.

Yours truly,
Cheryl, I miss you all

GILLIAN GAN CHIAH LING

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAREST GILA GILLIE GAN!

I LOVE YOU HEAPPPPSSS AND MISSING YOU LIKE SHIEETT!

Thanks for your super touching letter, though it arrived only 20days after you sent it, but it meant a whole lot. And wait for my reply. It should arrive approx 20days later as well, knowing Malaysia’s postmail system. LOL.I have no old pictures with me now, how depressing. I just reformatted my whole pc, and yet to transfer the files. Or not I would post up some of our sweet old photos we took together Gillie.

I actually teared reading the letter you sent me, which was 3 pages long! I was shocked but darn happy to hear from you. And while reading every word you wrote, all our times together just flashed back in my mind one by one.

Like you said, the shoelaces moment! Cheerleading! Studies! Shopping! I miss them so, as much as I miss talking to you. Eh I can still remember your malaysian handphone number you know! Die also I’ll still remember it, seriously. That’s how much we talk and call each other over the phone, from simple words like “Hey wanna go out later” to long long long conversations.
.
.

Gillie, once a friend, always a friend. No matter how far we’ve drifted apart, or how many obstacles and rough talks we’ve gone through together, but us being good friends is a fact that will never change. And please, stop saying that you were never good enough and all. I’m not accepting that babe.

What about those times you stood by my side whenever I needed support? What about all the times you willingly lent me your ears when I needed to pour my heart out? What about the times you spared your most busy moments just to give me incredible advices?

You said I’m your motivator. The truth is, you motivate me to motivate you.

As cheesy as it may sound, but you were and always are something in my life that I’ll never forget or leave behind. We literally grew up together. Just that now you’re in Aus, I’m missing you and our old times dearly.

It was aweeesomeee to hear you over the phone today. Felt like I haven’t spoken to you in yearssss. And when I mentioned I miss you, and I love you, I meant it gillie. I don’t want to keep talking about our past, because I know there will be a future. We will have more and more fun together once you’re back here again, I cannot wait to see you.

Also, I hope Aus’s treating you fine there. Apart from exams and all, I hope you’re doing great, and happy there. If there’s ever a time that you feel down, or you feel like the whole world is against you, just don’t forget you’ve got me to turn to, to lean on to. You have me, you have your family, you have US.

Happy birthday once again hunn. Much love, and all the best for your upcoming tests! English & Maths on your bday aye.. lol. Don’t study hard, study smart. Sejarah, remember? ;)

Love you loadsssss Gillie!! Muahhh xoxo.
.

Yours truly, Cheryl, missing you dearly..
