You think this flat still looks good? Look again.

Pekeliling flats also known as Tunku Abdul Rahman flats was the second high-rise apartment building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was built long before I was born, or any of you were born, in 1964.
…….and now, it’s all going to be demolished. Two out of 11 blocks of this 17-storey flat were already demolished. And I suppose it won’t be much longer till the others face demolition.
I went there, wanted to check the place out for my next photography destination, and to know what I need to bring and prepare the next time I go there. Since I did have my DSLR along with me at that time, so I snapped a few shots. Sadly, I didn’t bring my tripod down with me, so I did not have many clear shots because it was simply to dark in there.
What do you expect?
It’s abandoned.

Walking inside the abandoned building really hit me. It just feels really sad for the people who used to live there, and for the people who had no choice but to evacuate the building since it is going to be demolished for development purposes.
When I looked from the stairway down at the huge pile of once belonged items (I know some would rather just call them garbage), I spotted many soft toys.
Bunnies.
Teddy bears.
Stuffed dogs.
….and also, a one sided shoe, which its size looked ranging from a child of 12 months to 16 months old.
And of course, there were many other more stuffs.
Whatever they were or it is, I just think it is really sad just by looking at the condition of the place. I know it’s abandoned, that’s why it looks like that. But….sigh… why!
And this is my favourite picture from all the others shots,

I developed the photo above and handed up as one of my assignment photos for my lecturer to pick.
I caught him smiling a little when he saw this photo of mine. He picked that photo, and asked me if I went there alone. It seems he said that there are a lot of drug addicts there, and I should be careful.
Secretly, I was very happy that he chose it. I loved that photo. And I guess I was lucky not to bump into any drug addicts at that time when I was there.
But anyways, I will go there again some time soon, hopefully able to capture and snap better shots with the help of my tripod the next time I go there.
And do remind myself that mosquito repellent is essential when going there.
Hmmm.

Speaking about photography, I got back my results for my 1st and 2nd assignments. And I got an A- and an A+.
=)
I hope my final (3rd) assignment of my 4 pieces of 8R photos will score equally as good.
