Breathing Pastels

My fingers from my thumb to my last pinky of both hands were colourful and filthy. They were all covered with soft pastel colours. Soon enough, my left elbow was in blood red colour.

I needed to release my bladder then. When I looked in the mirror, I saw my forehead was black-brownish in colour. For a moment I thought I could roughly imagine myself as a red indian.

My nose started to itch a little. I tried resisting the itch and continue on my soft pastels. I kept reminding myself that all of my fingers were filthy, and that it’s impossible to rub my nose.

Well my final artwork is almost there. I was indeed very excited to finish it to its very last bit. I think I was left with only a small square column of it uncoloured. I couldn’t wait to get it complete.

And that was when, I totally forgotten how dirty/colourful my fingers were, and started rubbing my nose. (well don’t ask me how pastels smell like)

Since we were allowed to change the original colour of the settings to any other colours we preferred, I decided to play with warm and vibrant colours instead of the original rather dull colours of the setting.

From the picture above, my final artwork is almost done. Not fully completed only because I have yet to do the touch ups. I would need to use some charcoal for more shadow, tone and value effects at some parts, and sharp coloured pencils for the face details. Other than that, I hope I’m ready-to-go and hand up this A2 boxboard artwork!

I’m about to go bathe and get ready to head out of home later. Will be heading down to KL for some photogrpahy outing with my college mates, Charles and Veen. I hope the weather stays good throughout *crosses fingers*.

Yours truly,
Cheryl, I want to buy an easel. Or should I steal?
