On Being A Hero

Today, my college friend, Qing, became a hero.

(the damage is very bad, just that I took it from a wrong angle. You can’t see how the tyre part is)

(owner of this Honda City was very emo, because her car is only 3 months old)

Yup. We were driving out for lunch today. I drove to college today (because my sister worked from home and Nick took leave). So we used my car and Qing’s car to go for lunch.

While turning at the big junction opposite Street Mall in Cyberjaya, that’s where our hero story begins.

My car was in front of Qing’s. I saw that the road was safe and clear for me to cut across to the right. Also, I did notice the Honda City which was still faraway coming down from the straight road. But the City did slow down when she saw my car crossing across right.

Qing followed me from the back to turn to the right. Perhaps she might have not noticed the Honda City. The City which already slowed down for me, seemed to have speeded up after I crossed and when Qing’s car was following at the back of mine.

And then you get the picture.

Well the City said she that the road was a slope, and even if she would break hard, she cannot break n stop the car in time.

Personally, I think that is only half of the true reason.

All drama-rama being cut short, Qing did not look carefully at the junction to see if there are any cars before cutting across. And the Honda City is just being typical Malaysian drivers who don’t want to give way to other cars to turn. Instead, speeded up when saw Qing was halfway turning.

So, who’s in the wrong?

To me, logically, both are in the wrong. But according to road laws and what not, straight road is always correct. So that puts Qing in the wrong.

We accompanied her till everything was settled. I’m glad that no one in the car was injured. Especially the driver, because it is amazing and a miracle how the car was banged damn hard at the drivers side, and Qing still can smile in photos.

So, I’m happy for that.

Lesson learnt: Don’t berhero-hero, cos in the end, you will berzero-zero.

Yours truly,
Cheryl, Life Drawing test tomorrow! Aaahh!
